> There are previous god hand members? Nice this shows there might be a cycle. For what I remember, God Hands where once humans (just like how Griffiths evolution to being one) and the previous ones where probably killed by SK or someone : and have been replaced by new ones, only the middle one still remains from SK's memories : This is a torture waiting for months for that update : : : Yeah, it might be possible that SK killed them but it might not be SK who killed them and they just went back to the IOE and a new generation of Godhand started with Void. It could go both ways.
My speculation on how Berserk will end. My speculation is based on these comparisons:- Griffith = Skull Knight/Glaseric Guts = Void So, this is how I think it went. Glaseric sacrificed his friend Void in order to become the fifth member of the Godhand. Void was able to escape the sacrificial altar. In between, Void would constantly fight against the Apostles in order to get revenge and kill Glaseric. Glaseric is eventually revived into his physical form, he creates a massive empire. Void returns and starts an armed insurrection against Glaseric's empire. The insurrection fails and Void is captured and tortured. Void prays to the other four Godhand members and they come down as the Four Angels and attack Glaseric. Void sacrifices Glaseric in order to become the first Godhand member of the new generation. Glaseric kills all the four old generation Godhand members by Using the Berserker armour. The Four old Godhand members having fulfilled their purpose return to the Idea of Evil. Void continues to recruit Godhand members to start a new cycle with the end point been Griffith creating his Empire of Falconia. Glaseric/Skull Knight becomes the avenger with the roles been flipped. This cycle continues with Guts and Griffith. Right now, Guts is the Avenger, Griffith is the Emperor who will fall. Guts will become the new Godhand, Griffith will kill all the current four Godhand members and will become a ghost of vengeance. What I am trying to say is this is how the Idea of Evil controls the physical realm. Let a Godhand member create an empire < This leads to a massive war < Let the remaining four Godhand members destroy the empire < With the fall of the empire, more wars break out < Thus, perpetuating the cycle of Evil. This means that Guts will become a Godhand member. However there is a critical plot element that was shown in the first arc. The Baron in the first arc refused to sacrifice his daughter. He went against fate and Guts saw that. If Guts goes against Fate and refuses to sacrifice, then the complex cycle that IOE has designed will fail. With this, Guts has won as the IOE can no longer influence the physical world. Some other interesting comments:- -The behelit that Guts has will eventually transform into a crimson behelit . - The woman that Glaseric holds in his arms is a comparison with Casca. This means that in each cycle, a woman is always caught between the two Godhand members. - Griffith builds his capital city over the ruins of Glaserics's capital city.
> At first glance, the good vs. evil aspect would have Guts and Griffith reversed, but the roles completely fit. I think my bias is that Guts (through the help of his allies, who are not starting their training to be able to at least keep up with him) is going to break the trend/pattern. Glaseric appears to want to break this too (the whole control of the human realm). So there are both people strong enough and the numbers necessary to have all members of God Hand defeated (seems to still be WAAAAY down the line though). Exactly! The major point if the theory is that Guts will break the pattern. Free will wins over Providence. I expect that with the IOE no longer been able to influence the physical world, the brand's will lose their power. This means that Casca and Guts can live peacefully now. As for Griffith, I guess he will become a wandering ghost without any purpose (unlike the Skull Knight who has a purpose) which I think is the best firm of punishment fir what he did.

Ah, I missed some parts (and probably because I don't remember most of Berserk's plot points...). Yup, I definitely agree and the crazy thing is that SOOOOO much more has to happen for this still! Lots of great content to look forward to! To be quite honest, I highly doubt this is going to happen. At best this will be good fanfiction material. :
> So I was reading the manga and a fifth element called Baryete is mentioned in chapter 346. I wonder if it will play a role later as the weight element. How in the world did I forget the entire first half of this chapter?! This wasn't that long ago either...but for sure on baryete. Maybe it is Guts' element? I already like the creativity with how magic is used in Berserk combat, so I'm going to assume there will be unique takes on essentially a gravity power too. I did not know of this either. I must have completely missed it when I read the chapter for the first time. I only noticed this when I reread the entire fantasia arc for the seventh time. It is my favorite arc by the way. It is a very slight reference which means people who do not pay attention to details may miss it. Now, on Guts, It was already hinted that he had an Earth affinity when he was offered the Earth item. But he refused it. So I do not think Guts is related to any element. However, if I were to assume someone as the holder of the Baryete element, then I think it would be Farnese. She always feels like she is floating whenever she is in the astral realm. For Earth, I would go with Azan for the "Iron" references that he has. Isma is very obvious as a water creature of the mermaids. So, a possible elemental lineup that I think could be possible for Guts Travelling Party is:- Fire- Isidro Air- Serpico Earth- Azan Water- Isma Baryete- Farnese
> Interesting stuff: When Guts first sees the Crimson Behelit of Griffith, the Behelit looks back at Guts. Could this be a foreshadowing of Guts getting a Crimson Behelit? Maybe I'm forgetting some of the mechanics of the brand, but the Behelit being interested in how someone with a brand is still thriving is what comes to mind first. I know the demons/beasts are drawn to the brand, and isn't the Behelit kind of like the ultimate "rare beast" to come across? Actually the instance that I mentioned is before Guts got the brand. If we ignore the instances of Behelits activating upon a blood sacrifice, the Behelits seem to be interested in Guts for some reason. The Baron Behelit looked at Guts. The Griffith Crimson Behelit looked at Guts. What I find even more interesting is that all of the Behelits come into the possession of their owners from a travelling merchant. Could this travelling Merchant actually be Ubik in disguise?
> A reason why Guts does not have elemental affinities is probably because he is branded by the godhand. As far as the story goes, the elemental kings and the godhand oppose each other. If this is true, it probably applies to Casca also? Schierke is obviously going to play a big role in their training once they leave Elf Island. She is slowly becoming a counterpart of her master. Wait...did we get anything on the elemental kings (5 now with the new element) other than when being part of the protective spell by Schierke? I feel like Berserk excels at putting all this super important stuff as a 1x mention only. I thought there was a scene with Casca being intrigued by wind magic (back when she was the child-like/traumatized version of herself). I guess it seems hard to make anything because at least off the top of my head, we have so little information on most of this. Even Shierke's master. I'm only recalling people talk about her. At most, we have her spirit taking form once I think right?> Actually the instance that I mentioned is before Guts got the brand. Ah, I completely forgot about the first instance. The first thing that comes to mind is that there is an aspect of "knowing the future" already. The Behelits naturally find their way to their owner through seemingly freak of nature occurances. Even Griffith's one changed hands a few times but it still ended up back in his possession when it was his destined time to activate it. So I do like the idea of Ubik playing a role in starting the process, but there is still this destiny/fate aspect (and a big part of the series is Guts and crew being able to forcefully change it). In my mind, they are interested in Guts because he is shown to be able to rebel against them potentially to a greater extent or similar extent as the SK in the future they see. It's like reading One Piece chapters for me. The general outline of the remaining plot is fully predictable (they know the gist of the future), but seeing the key puzzle pieces come together is the most entertaining part. The four elemental kings are used as the protective spells, yes. There is a theory that the Holy See was founded by Void. Void sacrificed all of his followers to become a member of the Godhand. These followers were branded on the forehead by Void and their skeletons can be found in the bottom of the tower where Griffith was imprisoned. The brand of sacrifice waas probably also created by Void, it is basically a corrupt version of the hawk symbol of the Holy See. The Holy See and Godhand are the one and the same. Both of them have been trying to reduce the influence of the four elemental kings by destroying magic trees (where Shierke's master lived), killing astral entities and disrespecting the lesser elemental gods. I do not remember Casca getting intriuged by Wind magic. If she was, it is understandable. A child would be intruiged by many things and Casca had the state of mind of a child as you said. Just like Guts, Casca is the same, because of the brand she may not get an elemental affinity if my above point is true of the Godhand/Holy See been opposed to each other. Also to note here is that Schierke's master was unable to remove Void's brand and was scared/ in awe of the Godhand which hints at the opposition between them. Schierke's master took the form of a fire spirit to stall for time to ensure Guts got the Berserker armor. I think her transformation implied that she may have had a fire elemental affinity. Yeah, destiny plays a huge role here because of the Idea of Evil. Ubik playing a role in the physical world to ensure the Behelits reach their owners make more sense though. The Idea of Evil is an ideal entity which is very deep in the dimensional planes (The bottom most). So he cannot physically manipulate the behelits. There must be an Astral Entity Godhand member who manipulates how the Behelits find owners. At the end of the day Ubik is a part of the Idea of Evil, so it is not free will but the Providence of Idea of Evil that is manipulating events here. The way I speculate it is like this:- Ideal World- Idea of Evill has full control Astral World- Idea of Evil controls it with the Godhand, he has no direct control. Physical World- Idea of Evil controls it with Behelits, Apostles and Holy See, he has no direct control. Each manipulates the other creating a chain. Idea of Evil -> Godhand -> Behelits -> Apostles. I think the reason why Guts and Casca are able to defy Idea of Evil is simply because they reside in the Interstice along with Skull Knight. This makes them immune to these manipulations. Important to remember here is that Guts followed the Idea of Evil's providence to the letter till he received the brand. Maybe the reason he and Casca survived the Eclipse and broke the chain of providence was because of the brands. The Interstice plays some role here. It would be nice if it is explored further in future chapters.
